Tai chi, is often referred to as meditation in motion. It is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. To do tai chi, you perform a series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner, coordinating the movement with the breath. Each posture flows into the next without pausing.
Anyone, regardless of age or physical ability, can practice tai chi. It doesn't take physical prowess. Rather, tai chi emphasizes technique over strength.

These workouts provide high intensity exercise programs using movement & resistance to provide a stimulus for weight loss, increased functionality, and optimal fitness. Incorporating strength, speed, balance and coordination, these training sessions allow full development of all these parameters while creating the physiological stimulus needed for lasting weight loss. These workouts are conducted in an interval based format and include both cardiovascular and resistance training, using multiple joint and hybrid type movements along with full body calisthenics to burn maximum calories and create a "ripple effect" on the metabolism that lasts long after the exercise has stopped.
One on one training tailored to meet your specific needs whether it be weight loss, increased athletic ability or overall wellbeing.
An intense conditioning class, drawing on concepts from Pilates, Yoga, Ballet, Graham Technique, Feldenkrais, Weight Training and more., designed to open your body to it's full physical potential. Whether you are an aspiring ballerina or a professional football player, this class will increase your performance on the field or on the stage.
Students will explore improvisation as a process that facilitates the spontaneous response to cues and stimuli for the purpose of opening doorways to their own movement creativity. Topics will consider relaxation, improvisational states, structures for improvisations, participant and leader roles, building group trust, and the progression from spontaneity to form and how to apply this in creating choreographic structures.
This is a six week closed workshop. Please ask for more information about this class.
Contact Improvisation is a post-modern folk dance. It's a process for finding new choreographic ideas. Some people perform it, others do it as a practice or discipline. It is a dance that fine tunes your senses and wakes up your ability to listen and respond to what is happening in the moment. It's usually done as a duet (but sometimes solo or in larger groups), it's usually in silence; and it's improvised. Dancers are as likely to be on the floor as standing, and sometimes they're flying on someone else's shoulders. Contact Improv is different from other dancing in that partners are often moving in and out of physical contact while rolling, spiraling, springing and falling. The dancing is unpredictable and inspired by the physical and energetic contact the partners share.

There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great deal of good. ~Edwin Denby
