  • Grace Caudill, Fiddle

Grace's first experience playing music was on the piano, with five years of lessons beginning at the age of seven. She has the background of music theory, seeing as she also played clarinet and percussion in band and took vocal lessons in a choir for four years. Grace first took interest in the violin/fiddle around the age of eleven when her older sister started playing guitar in a bluegrass band. After only several months of playing, she was asked to join the band. She has played with several different bands since then and has also had the privilege of playing with many well known bluegrass stars such as Rhonda Vincent, Chris Sexton, Joe Dean, Hunter Berry and many more. • Alyson Garvey, Yoga

Alyson Garvey, Jananda Certified Yoga Instructor
Alyson has been studying yoga for 25 years in NYC, where she lived . Moving to the big city to study art, she first took a course at the School of Visual arts (BFA), then continued her studies with Hatha, Jiva Mukta, Iyengar, and  Ashtanga, with a little time with Anusara.

The lineage of Hatha yoga has many forms -
Jiva Mukta imparted a life long love of how amazing Yoga is, by energetically learning the various asanas.  Iyengar gave her the inside story of the asana positions finding the importance of form and alignment in the function and benefits of Yoga, by means of  varied props usage: bolsters, bands, and blocks, etc.. From Ashtanga practice she learned from doing the rigorous series of  asanas A & B, repeated with exactness each time you go to the mat.  personal question surfaced  - how am I today as I do the same practice? And the long answer was finding a center in the doing that goes along with any humanly possible emotion or physical sensation. And studying with Jana Titus, she learned a deeper sense of yoga studying the ancient teacher and author of the Yoga Sutras, Patanjalis. Most importantly, she became acquainted with the Mulabunda! The Mulabunda  is centered in the pelvis and is a full 360 degree engagement of those core muscles. Music and flowing movement are always forefront in her teaching.
(Sun Salutations/flowing movement/floor stretches & twisting. All levels welcome)

  • Alicia Smith, Dance

Alicia Smith began her love of dancing and the arts at two years old, at Cathy’s Creative Dance in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of thirteen, she became the assistant dance teacher of the Stars of Tomorrow Dance Studio in Humansville Missouri, which she eventually co-owned. Soon after, she opened Alicia’s Dance Academy, specializing in many forms of ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, and performing arts. While the owner of Alicia’s Dance Academy, Alicia introduced dance and performing arts to hundreds of people in the surrounding areas. Her dance studio performed several shows a year, including performances at the local nursing homes and schools. During this time, Alicia would find ways to let everyone dance regardless of their ability to pay. As Alicia’s Dance Academy grew, her dancers would perform at the Worlds of Fun Dance Festival and Competition in Kansas City and compete against hundreds of dancers from a crossed the country. In 2007, the dancers competed and won 1st in solo ballet, and 2nd in duet tap. In 2008 they took 2nd in solo tap and scored the highest points possible in choreography and originality for their group dance and tap dance.  Alicia just recently moved to Rolla with her husband, Charlie, her daughter, Adriel, and son, Manoah.
