ABOUT US: andFLEW! was created to be a genuinely supportive, joyful and highly creative environment where students of all ages and backgrounds can experience dance, fitness and the arts as a positive force. It is our sincere hope to make dance and arts an accessible, affordable and integral part of our community, providing the opportunity for students to free themselves of inhibition and to fully experience themselves as powerful and creative individuals.
We offer a full range of classes in dance, yoga, dance fitness, visual arts and music for students ages 2-adult. We hope to make the arts accessible to the whole community, creating a supportive, fun environment in which to learn. In 2009 we were fortunate enough to teach nearly $2,500 in free classes, and raised almost $1,500 in donations for our scholarship students. Located in beautiful downtown Rolla, near Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

It is our goal to never turn away a truly dedicated student due to financial concerns. Ask about our SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM for more information on applying for financial aid. Auditions for the Performance Troupe/Dance Company and for 2010/11 scholarships will be held Saturday, August 7th, 2-4 pm.

andMOVE! is our dance performance troupe for young dancers ages 8-16 and pre-professional
adults. andMOVE! gives students the opportunity to train and perform professionally on a local and regional level. Auditions for the Performance Troupe/Dance Company and for 2010/11 scholarships will be held Saturday, August 7th, 2-4 pm. Ages 10-16

2010-2011 MONTHLY TUITION
Prices are per household. For convenience and ease of payment, tuition is paid by automatic withdrawal through your debit or credit card.Tuition is the same each month, regardless of holidays or the number of classes held.

2010-2011 RECITAL FEE: $115 per student for dance students. ($45 for Martial Arts or Yoga students. You only have to pay one fee or the other. For example, if you take dance AND yoga, only pay the dance fee.) First half is due the first week of December. Remainder is due first week of March. Cost includes costume and tights, a recital t-shirt, program, recital gift and DVD of the recital.

MAKE UP CLASSES: are encouraged (IF available) when a class is missed due to illness, weather or a holiday, but must be taken within the current term.
DROPPING A CLASS:Just as we make a commitment to our students, we ask that you make the same commitment to us. By enrolling in a class, you are commiting to fullfilling participation in the remainder of the term. This ensures consistancy and progress for our students, and gives our teachers time to get to know you and how best to help you learn. Should you decide to drop a class, one full months notice is required, or full payment for the term is expected. We ask you to do this as we often times have a wait list, and this gives us time to fill your spot. Thank you for your understanding.
DRESS CODES:All students enrolled in dance or movement classes are required to have appropriate clothing/shoes within one month of enrolling. Dress codes are strictly enforced. Children are required to have a dance bag and their name on all shoes and clothing items. Our studio boutique carries all items needed, either in stock or by special order.
RECITAL: Our annual recital is held at the end of the school year. Recital dates are announced in December. There will be a recital fee to participate in the recital. All classes (dance, martial arts, children's yoga, tumbling and group music) participate in the recital. No student is required to participate, but it is strongly encouraged, as it is a great experience and builds self confidence!
ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is most important. Excessive absences may cause your child to fall behind, and they may be moved to another level. Absences near recital time may result in not being able to participate in recital.
HOLIDAYS: andFLEW! closes for most major holidays. Tuition will not be pro-rated. Close dates will be posted at the studio and on our answering machine. (Check the answering machine if the weather is bad).
LEVELS: Levels are determined by your instructor. Please speak with your instructor about what level is appropriate for you.

We carry a full line of dance wear and shoes ant our studio boutique.
All students need a dance bag to bring to class. Please write your name in all your dance shoes, and label clothing.
Hair should be securely pulled back from face. No dangling jewelery or gum. Dress codes are strictly enforced. Students are expected to have proper attire within one month of enrolling in class.

WEDDING PACKAGES
Wedding Packages provide a special program tailored to wedding couples facing the challenge and joy of their first dance together as married partners. We can help you select music and will choreograph a routine for your first dance tailored to your specific skills. We also offer private group classes for everyone in your wedding party so your attendants and parents can look and feel great on the dance floor. Your first dance is a manifestation of the joy and love you feel for each other. We promise to make you shine!
RATES:
$275 for 3 private lessons, choreography for your first dance, help in choosing the perfect song and 1 wedding party class.

Gessell has studied dance, yoga and choreography at MSU, Kripalu Yoga Center, and with multiple international teachers and mentors across the country and Hong Kong, including Dharma Mittra, John Friend, Desiree Rhumbaugh, Ana Forrerst and more. She has danced with Inertia Dance Company (MO) oaklanDrive Dance Company (WA). She has choreographed concerts and mainstage musicals both locally and regionally and had choreographic work performed in concert at Velocity in Seattle, MSU and for Gala Presentation at the American College Dance Festival.
Alicia Smith began her love of dancing and the arts at two years old, at Cathy’s Creative Dance in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of thirteen, she became the assistant dance teacher of the Stars of Tomorrow Dance Studio in Humansville Missouri, which she eventually co-owned. Soon after, she opened Alicia’s Dance Academy, specializing in many forms of ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, and performing arts. While the owner of Alicia’s Dance Academy, Alicia introduced dance and performing arts to hundreds of people in the surrounding areas.
Alyson has been studying yoga for 25 years in NYC, and is a Jananda Certified Yoga Instructor and a Certified Homeopathic Practitioner. Moving to the big city to study art, she first took a course at the School of Visual arts (BFA), then continued her studies with Hatha, Jiva Mukta, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Anusara. Music and flowing movement are always forefront in her teaching, and she is deeply committed to instilling a life long love of yoga to her students, by energetically learning the various asanas and then exploring the function and benefits of proper form and alignment.
Beau is a second degree black belt in Youn Wha Ryu Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts. He studied under Grand Master Hans, and has extensive teaching experience in both Youn Wha Ryu and Tai Chi, having taught classes, workshops and participated in tournaments across Missouri. He is the president and founder of the MS&T Youn Wha Ryu club. Beau is a compassionate and professional teacher, volunteering much time and effort to teaching and furthering martial arts across Missouri.
Grace teaches fiddle, tumbling and children's dance. She trained as a gymnast at Flip-Flop gymnastics for over 4 years and has trained in ballet, tap and jazz. She plays fiddle and sings regionally with professional bluegrass bands, and has played and performed with nationally recognized musicians, such as Rhonda Vincent, Chris Sexton, The Martins and more.
Paul Frisbee is an avid yoga teacher, and has been teaching ballroom, swing and latin dance in the Rolla area for several years, teaching both private and group lessons. He has studied dance with Twilight Dance Studio in Columbia and placed first in his division at the St. Louis Star Ball Competition. He has extensive stage performance experience, having done work with and performed with both Ozark Actors Theatre, MS&T Theatre and more.Paul is a graduate of UMR in Mechanical Engineering, a dedicated athlete and runner, and has studied yoga with international teachers such as Desiree Rumbaugh.
Sarena started teaching yoga in '09 after earning her 200-hr teaching cert. from Vital Yoga in Denver. She has also completed Pre/Post Natal Yoga Teacher Training at Samadhi Center for Yoga, Yoga Nidra training at the PranaYoga Center, & participated in Axis Yoga Trainings program. Her classes are influenced by Anusara, Ashtanga, Forrest & Iyengar. She tries to make yoga accessible to all abilities. Her primary teaching style is Vinyasa; she has also taught power yoga for soldiers, gentle & chair yoga for veterans & Parkinson's. Sarena's “other” job is writing for websites on health/wellness.
Emeri Rosa is a certified Zumba instructor and the proud mother of two. She has studied both ballet and jazz at Donna's Dance Studio and with broadway dancer Gary Cockrell at The Dance Centre. She is a professional bluegrass musician and has played regionally with Rosa's Stringworks, Beverly's Hillbillies, Jimmy Allison and more, and with nationally recognized musicians such as Rhonda Vincent. She is excited to be teaching at andFLEW!

Heather Chirban has been involved in the arts for her entire life. Heather was taught the fundamentals of art, design, and movement at a young age and participates in regional and international competitions/shows with her art. Heather enjoys teaching others to appreciate and perfect artistic skills with various mediums such as sketching, painting, and photography. Since her first visit to Hawaii, Heather has been dancing hula alongside her mother, performing and teaching to all ages. Heather is thrilled to be teaching hula fitness, a high-energy and beautiful way to learn the art of hula.
Jerry Rosa, Sr. is the founder of Rosa Stringworks Band and former chairman of Bluegrass America/ Missouri Area Bluegrass Committee and has been associated with Bluegrass music since childhood. The Rosa StringWorks Band (formed 1991) has played events ranging from backyard barbecues to the world famous Fox Theater and RAMS Stadium. They have opened for a list of Country Music Stars including Diamond Rio, Merle Haggard, Patty Loveless, The Charlie Daniel’s Band, Jo Dee Messina, Louise Mandrel and have released 4 albums. Jerry has a passion for teaching and passing on the tradition of bluegrass.

COMMUNITY CLASS DAY
FREE classes the first Saturday of every month! As our way of saying THANKS to the community, we will be offering one or more classes one Saturday a month, free and open to the public. A great way to try something new, or reconnect with something familiar! All are welcome, so bring a friend and come join us for a great day of fun, fitness and friends! DONATION CLASSES
As part of our vision to make yoga and movement arts accesible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation, we will be offering one or more yoga classes per week on a donation basis. Just show up to class and pay what you can! All proceeds go towards our Scholarship Fund to help off set tuition costs and provide scholarships to deserving students.
